my lungs are fresh and yours to keep

It's been a while. School is still out to get me. History seems to be going well. Chemistry is violating me with a cactus. I've spent some time listening to the new Brand New album, and to be honest, at first I wasn't sure what to do with it. And like most divinely beautiful things, it took a while, but I fell for Daisy. It's no The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me, but then again, it's that they're always changing and growing that have made them one of my all-time favourite bands. Not to mention that when I learnt, and then played The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot, I could barely sing because I was crying so hard. There aren't very many songs that make me cry, but one that made me cry while playing it? There's only been one so far.

Anyway, Daisy. Friggen adore it. I've always liked screaming. Jesse Lacey screaming is just heavenly. On my first listen, Vices was my favourite track. But then, and even now, that woman singing just annoys me and I just skip through it. Be Gone irritated the hell outta me at first. However, after a couple more listens, I fell for it too. With it's exotic guitar and the muffled vocals. For some reason I like that I don't know what he's singing. And oh my, that moan at the beginning, it gives me chills. As per usual, magnificent songwriting from Jesse. His lyrics stun me into silence, on every album. I really do want you pretty bad.
