Hmm, I haven't blogged in quite a while. Which is unusual for me, especially as it's the holidays. I suppose this holiday is more eventful then previous ones. My cousins came for about a month! So I was constantly preoccupied for a month. Then about 5 days before they were due to leave, my Nenek and cousin (another one) came! They'll be leaving on the 6th. Which isn't a very long stay, but I don't really mind, as long as the house is full of people until school starts again!
Now, the real reason for blogging. Oh dear, some HILARIOUS things I've seen while "out and about". I was in Utama Grand the other day, and I saw some fake toothbrushes, and there were a couple that were branded "Oral-Me".
Another thing I saw in Utama Grand, were some of those roll-on perfume things. Behind it was a handwritten sign on a piece of cardboard. Guess what it said.
"DO NOT TRY. GOD SEES YOU."
Religious fanatic? Maybe. Whoever wrote it, I think that's going a bit far. You really only needed to say that the supermarket had CCTV. Haiyooo.
I managed to watch quite a lot of movies this holiday. Most were stupid affairs I won't even bother to write about. THE best were:
- Vanity Fair (I LOVE THIS MOVIE)
- The Thief Lord (Pretty good)
- Superbad (I AM MCLOVIN!!)
- December Boys (Alright, Dan Radcliffe put on an Aussie accent! A must see for all HP fans.)
- Bratz (OH GOD, this is hilarious, is this REALLY how tweens view "high-school"? God.)
- Gol & Gincu (Random Malay movie I watched with my Cousin. Not Bad.)
- Alvin & The Chipmunks (A cute family movie, nothing more.)
- National Treasure 2 (Not as good as the first, but brilliantly researched.)
On to books.
I reread Twilight and realised that for me, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
do not work. I can't seem to really pinpoint characteristics of the Edward I see in my mind, but Gaspard and Ellen Page really match Edward and Bella. Kristen Stewart's too pretty! Ellen looks more average, and she's a great actress. And Gaspard's already been a cannibal, he's about to act as an Angel in another movie, so isn't a Bella's favourite vampire essentially a mixture of those two creatures? People have already started preparing for the release. Which may be as early as December 2008. :D Here are some of the best fan-made posters I've found. On a slightly happier note, I can finally play some chords on the guitar! I can actually play some songs now, correctly, with no help from my brother. I can play Hey There Delilah, Just Like Heaven & Loving You. :D
I can even sing along with Just Like Heaven! :DDD. Which is GREAT. Because it is now officially one of my
favourite songs of all time. Robert Smith is a genius. I tried searching for some covers, and its incredible how many people have covered Cure songs. Robert Smith deserves a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. AFI, Tkaing Back Sunday, Goldfinger, Dinosaur Jr., Katie Melua, Tori Amos, Otep & Gatsby's American Dream are only SOME of the bands that've covered The Cure. Robert Smith writes AMAZING love songs. :)
