Heh, whoops. I forgot my analysis of the 7th Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows.
Before anyone asks, I HAVE FINISHED IT!
I finished it on Sunday the 22nd at about 4pm, & I am very proud of myself, but I haven't beaten my record for the 6th book. (:
Ok, now. Warning, Spoilers ahead. But feel free to read on:
EXCELLENT. Absolutely magnificent, splendiforous, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious, amazing.
In my opinion, definitely better than the 6th.
The best part of the entire book, was the ending. JK Rowling couldn't have ended it better. Even though so many characters had died, the story still felt finished, like they hadn't missed out. I think it's safe to say it really had a "Happy Ending". I usually hate movies & books that leave you hanging, though finished ones rarely give any comfort either, but this really finished it spectacularly. It ended 19 years in the future, (when Harry, Ron & Hermione are 36).
Here, things get a bit tricky, and I had to read it twice to figure out who is who. Here's a guide that might help when the time comes.
Harry marries Ginny.
Ron marries Hermione.
Draco isn't so bad after all.
They all have kids.
Ted (Teddy) is Lupin & Tonks son.
Victoire is (I think) Bill & Fleur's daughter.
James, Albus Severus & Lily are Harry & Ginny's children.
Hugo & Rose are Ron & Hermione's children.
Neville is Hogwart's Herbology professor.
Severus Snape was in love with Harry's mother, Lily. He promised to protect Harry, and only killed Dumbledore under Dumbledore's instruction.
The Invisibility cloak does NOT protect from spells like it did for Ignotus, because he died a natural death, and therefore, the strongest of its powers faded away.
Fred Weasley, Hedwig, Mad-Eye Moody, Dobby, Lupin, Tonks, Colin Creevey, Voldemort, Ted Tonks & many more die.
This better be helpful, because I spent a while figuring it all out. It's also very helpful to have the other 6 books on hand while you're reading this one. Now that I've finished it, it's time to re-read it. (:
This book was excellent, because so much of it was unexpected, and it was so original, unlike any of the other books. Watch out for the part when Hermione actually kisses Ron. So sweet. (:
Personally I prefer the UK children's edition. (:
Definitely a must-read. ***** 5 stars.
JK Rowling deserves a humongous trophy and a zillion medals for this book, a perfect ending to an amazing series. (: Very Well Done.
