Northern Lights THE MOVIE is coming out SOOOON. I suppose officially its The Golden Compass, but that's the American Title for the book. So, yeah.
Wait for this date: December 7th 2007.
I've watched some of the trailers on YouTube. All I can say, is WOAH. Lyra's world isn't anything I expected it to be like. And omg, Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig are in it. How many movies are they planning to do together? Or are they just gonna get married? I expected Lord Asriel to be, fatter? I'm not sure, but not James Bond-ish. And the pilot-guy (I honestly can't remember his name right now) he's so old! I imagined him YOUNG. And quite hunka-spunka-y, actually.
Finally, some smart directors/casting people, they make the children younger than they actually seemed in the book. This way they might not have the whole "Can they finish the series? He's getting a beard and she's got a chest." that they're having with Harry Potter, and probably will have with Chronicles of Narnia.
It's such an
amazing, sad book, I hope they've done it properly. :) The actress playing Lyra's got one hell of a name: Dakota Blue Richards. x)
I can't wait for the other movies. :D I swear Nicole Kidman is the BEST actress for the part of Mrs. Coulter. She fits my mental image PERFECTLY. It's amazing!!!
